1. What is an anti-wrinkle treatment?
An anti-wrinkle treatment is a medical treatment and is safe only when administered by a trained medical professional such as a Doctor, to produce temporary smoothing of facial wrinkles and improve your appearance. When injected correctly, the effects should last for a 3 to 4-month period.
2. What do I need to do prior to treatment?
Continue to take all prescribed medicines.
Your initial appointment will include a detailed consultation assessment.
It is recommended to avoid alcohol or any supplements that may thin the blood (to avoid bruising) such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen (Paracetamol is ok), for 1 week prior to your appointment.
3. Is it painful?
Anti-wrinkle injections are not painful – there is a slight feeling like a pinch at the injection site. Some patients say they feel a mild stinging with each injection but little or no pain.
4. Are there any side effects?
Anti-wrinkle medical treatment and is safe only when administered by a trained medical professional such as a Doctor. It is an approved treatment for injection into the skin to correct wrinkles and lines on the face. As the treatment is administered using a small needle, there may be bleeding at the injection site which will manifest itself as a small bruise. As is standard for any injection procedure, there could be local stinging, or minor bruising may be observed in association with the injection.
5. What do I need to do after treatment?
For new clients:
All new clients having an anti-wrinkle treatment for the first time are offered a review consultation free of charge within 2 weeks of their treatment. The Smooth Skin Clinic has a conservative dosage policy for first-time clients which is followed by a review and administering a top-up if required.
For all clients:
It is important to avoid touching your skin in the area where the anti-wrinkle treatment was injected for approx. 4 hours.
6. How long does an anti-wrinkle treatment last?
When injected correctly, the effects should last for a 3 to 4-month period.
7. Is an anti-wrinkle treatment suitable for men?
Yes. Men have thicker skin and an increased blood supply to the skin on the face. As a result, men typically start treatments at a later age than females - around their mid-thirties.
8. What is an appropriate age for anti-wrinkle treatments?
Each patient will be assessed by a qualified doctor at their consultation appointment and anti-wrinkle treatment are suitable for a wide range of ages from 25 years to approx. 60 years.
However, it is important to note that an anti-wrinkle treatment will not be recommended to any client where natural skin elasticity has diminished, and it would not produce the desired result.
