Dr. Marie Hickey-Dwyer

Marie Hickey-Dwyer leads the medical team in the Smooth Skin Clinic.

Marie is a leading Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with specialist interests including surgical medical retina and cataract surgery.

Marie is the Head of the Ophthalmology Dept in University Hospital, Limerick where she works as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon since 1997.

Since graduating from University College Dublin in 1983 with her medical degree, she has specialised in ophthalmology and undertook a fellowship in medical & surgical retina in USA.

Following this, Marie undertook ophthalmic training in the Eye & Ear hospital in Dublin, the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and was appointed Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in Port Chester United Hospital in the UK.

She is a past President & current member of the Irish College of Ophthalmologists, Senior Examiner for the Fellowship of the European Board of Ophthalmology & a Council Member of the Oxford Ophthalmological Society in the UK.
